Skills Commentary:

I along with the rest of my group wrote the song Connor and I mainly did the melody. I also did a lot of the beginning part of the mixing as well as giving feedback on other mixing that was done.

POST-PRODUCTION – REFLECTION

21st Century Skills

Ways of Thinking (Creativity, Innovation, Critical Thinking, Problem Solving)

I was creative since I co wrote a song with my group, and worked out problems and developed new ideas.

Ways of Working (Communication & Collaboration)

I had to write a song with multiple people therefore we had to communicate and collaborate a lot

Tools for Working (Info & Media Literacy)

I used GarageBand to record and to mix the song

Ways of Living in the World (Life & Career)

Garageband is an intro to a professional DAW program Logic. Also playing Guitar could be used in the future as well as working in a team

Reactions to the Final Version

Bobby as well as the other also said this, he said that there was too much repetition of the main riff, and to change it up a bit.

Self-Evaluation of Final Version

I am very proud of this song. I really like the mix of the guitar and bass. There is definitely work for improvement that we will be working on, in our own time while we work on more material

Skills Commentary

Slideshow

This is a slideshow my team and I made to show what each of us did

POST-PRODUCTION – REFLECTION

21st Century Skills

Ways of Thinking (Creativity, Innovation, Critical Thinking, Problem-Solving)

one way in which I was innovative was that since our game was focused on a dinosaur roar that I downloaded since I needed new sounds. Also to create the bullet sounds I used a kick and snare drum that I heavily messed and distorted to create a gunshot sound.

Ways of Working (Communication & Collaboration)

Aiden and I worked very closely since we were the main people using Unity since everyone else had had issues accessing Unity or using Plastic SCM.

Tools for Working (Info & Media Literacy)

I used mainly Garageband and Unity. And I created music and sounds in Garageband and then uploaded them to Unity and made them play when the game started or when a button was pressed.

Ways of Living in the World (Life & Career)

Both Garageband and Unity are very good to know how to use either audio production or creating video games.

Reactions to the Final Version

Jessica said that the volume was too loud which I’m not sure if that was on our end or on their end. But based on that no one else was given that feedback it was probably on our end. Jessica also said that it wasn’t clear that the antagonist was a dinosaur

Self-Evaluation of Final Version

I think that this production cycle was a lot of either fixing bugs from when we were working on this last year or getting a basis for making sure everything was working and we had a slightly modified MVP. Next semester hopefully there will be a lot more content in the game. The game was too simple and you couldn’t really tell what was going on but next session we will have a lot more.

What I Learned:

I learned that Plastic SCM can kind of be buggy sometimes and, for some reason, things clash when they really should. There is probably a reason but it can be very buggy.
