SUMMARY

Guitar

Intention (SMART Goal)

By November 18th, as a part of School of Rock, I will learn how to play some guitar parts in Schism by TOOL with Griffin, Simon, and Connor, using this as a reference and help us. We will also listen to the song and go off of that.

PRE-PRODUCTION – INQUIRY

Leader(s) in the Field / Exemplary Work(s)

Adam Jones

Adam Jones is the guitarist from tool and is very good. Tool as a band mess with a lot of weird tuning, as well as timings. He is really good at leaving plenty of room for the other instruments but still filling the space. He has written some amazing riffs or played some amazing riffs like schism by tool.

Lots of weird timing (this isn’t a video)

keep messing up the timing when it goes into the between supposed lovers sections.

Skills Commentary

I am fairly happy with my ability to play the guitar part I messed up a few times during it but its a pretty complicated song with a lot of weird time. Sadly we didn’t a get a group final version but next time we will for sure.

POST-PRODUCTION – REFLECTION

21st Century Skills

Ways of Thinking (Creativity, Innovation, Critical Thinking, Problem Solving)

We all learned how to play schism and helped each other get through and understand the weird timing of the song.

Ways of Working (Communication & Collaboration)

We basically taught each other how to play the song and helped simon get the timing down

Tools for Working (Info & Media Literacy)

We listened to the original song a lot to sing how it went as well as we used some tabs as well as Garageband to record

Ways of Living in the World (Life & Career)

I got better at guitar, and also with working with a group to play live where with the last session there was less group playing.

Reactions to the Final Version

Self-Evaluation of Final Version

I think that personally we could have done better and that we weren’t as focused as we could have been but next session we are working on an original song that we all really wanna play.
